Ukraine Reimagined: Investing in Renewables and Storage

On 5 November 2025, the European-Ukrainian Energy Agency (EUEA), together with the Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership , will host the first part of the 16th Annual European-Ukrainian Energy Day in Berlin. Under the theme “Ukraine Reimagined: Investing in Renewables and Storage”, the conference will bring together policymakers, investors, international institutions, and industry leaders to discuss how Ukraine’s energy sector can drive recovery while supporting Europe’s long-term energy security.

The day-long programme will explore Ukraine’s strategic energy outlook and the investment opportunities shaping its renewable and storage markets, with sessions covering:

  • Ukraine’s Energy Strategy: Balancing Flexibility, Scale, and Strategic Direction –  examining long-term energy scenarios, the balance between on-site and utility-scale renewables, EU market integration, and the role of flexible backup capacity.
  • Insights from Investors – mapping opportunities and identifying priority areas for investment.
  • Insurance & De-Risking: Building Confidence in Ukraine’s Renewable Energy Projects – featuring experts from the European Commission, EBRD, MIGA, and the insurance sector on mitigating political, war-related, and financial risks, including the Electricity Price Guarantee Fund and Ukraine Facility funding through 2027.
  • Energy Storage: Unlocking Flexibility and Reliability – focusing on market design, policy frameworks, grid stability, and investment in storage solutions.
  • Unlocking Biomethane Potential – exploring Ukraine’s role in closing Europe’s biomethane gap, with case studies of early exports to the EU.

The Berlin conference will underline the crucial role of international cooperation and private investment in Ukraine’s renewable sector, laying the foundation for sustainable recovery and deeper integration into the European energy system. The second part of the conference will follow in Kyiv on 26 November, focusing on the conscious and systematic rebuilding of housing, critical infrastructure, and municipal systems.

Programme updates and registration details will be published shortly on the EUEA website.  We look forward to seeing you there!
