German-Ukrainian Energy Day 2026

Kyiv | 12 March 2026 | 14:00 EET (13:00 CET)

The Secretariat of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, implemented on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) and in close cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, is pleased to invite stakeholders, partners, and experts to the German-Ukrainian Energy Day 2026, taking place in Kyiv on 12 March 2026 at 14:00 EET (13:00 CET).

Now entering the fifth year since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine’s energy sector continues to operate under extraordinary pressure. Repeated attacks on generation, transmission, and heating infrastructure have highlighted both the vulnerability and the resilience of the system. Energy has become not only a cornerstone of economic stability, but a matter of national security and societal endurance.

At the same time, the ongoing crisis has accelerated structural transformation. The need for decentralisation, diversification, and rapid deployment of renewable energy is more urgent than ever. These efforts go hand in hand with Ukraine’s European integration path and the alignment of its energy sector with EU legislation, market design, and climate ambitions.

Against this backdrop, the German-Ukrainian Energy Day 2026 will provide a forward-looking platform for high-level exchange on the strategic choices shaping Ukraine’s energy future and the lessons relevant for European partners.

Thematic Sessions:

1. Energy system under fire: lessons learned for Ukraine and Europe

2. Leveraging renewables in Ukraine: the business perspective

3. Ukraine’s Energy Strategy: way forward into the EU
