Donation Campaign Event

On March 21st, an important event took place as part of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (BETD). The focus was on the donation campaign for the Ukrainian Energy Sector, with notable participation from various stakeholders. Representatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK), Ministry of Energy of Ukraine (MinEnergo), German associations, companies and NGOs attended the meeting. The event was hosted and opened by Kerstin Andreae, Chairwoman of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW).

 

 

The event focused on the following contents:

Promotion of Donation Campaign - Emphasizing the importance of the ongoing donation campaign for Ukraine, the session aimed to attract new donating companies and bolster support.

Update on Donation Campaign - Attendees received crucial updates on the progress and latest developments of the donation campaign, underscoring the collective efforts to aid Ukraine.

Insights from Donors and Recipients - Valuable perspectives were shared from both donors, represented by German companies, and recipients, offering firsthand experiences from Ukraine.

German Associations' Perspective - Representatives from German associations BDEW and VKU contributed insights on the involvement of German energy companies in Ukraine for business activities.

The donation campaign is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK) and supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the frame of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership.

On the Road to the ‘Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024’: Sustainable Financing for Ukraine’s Green Transition during and after the War

As official framework programme of BETD, panel 3 On the Road to the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024: Sustainable Financing for Ukraine’s Green Transition during and after the War took place as well on March 21st. The panel focussed on financing the green energy transition in Ukraine in the midst of the ongoing war and beyond. It aimed to explore current strategies and approaches for financing sustainable reconstruction efforts and the transition to decentralised energy supply, as well as technical approaches and criteria for energy efficient restoration. The meeting brought together decision makers and leading experts from politics, financial institutions, business and international cooperation actors to share their views on applicable solutions that would pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient energy supply in Ukraine.
